Mike Fenwick is a Business Studies graduate who worked for 15 years in the consumer healthcare industry, for Unilever, Smith & Nephew and Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis). He held a variety of sales and marketing positions and worked extensively in business development. He spent 6 years with Ciba-Geigy, the last 4 of which were at Head Office in Basel. During this time, the Consumer Pharmaceuticals business grew rapidly via acquisition in the US, EU and South Africa. Mike then established the consulting practice in 1988 and now has over 25 years of experience with FGR. He has worked for clients and on projects around the world. The company is based in London, but has full international reach and capabilities. Mike’s experience now embraces several additional consumer product sectors, including personal care, and household products. The company has established an Associate network offering a wide breadth of commercial, country and functional expertise. Mike is the author of several reports on the international consumer healthcare market, including publications for the FT and collaborations with IMS and Taylor Nelson Sofres.
Duncan McLaughlin has spent his entire career in the consumer healthcare industry and has held a variety of roles in sales, marketing, business development and regional management with domestic and multinational companies. In the early 1990s Duncan was involved in establishing and building the OTC business for Sterling Health in Central & Eastern Europe and then went on to head up the CEE region for Roche Consumer Health. During this time Duncan was based in Vienna, Geneva and Warsaw. Duncan has been working as a pharmaceutical industry consultant since 2000. In that time he has consulted on major projects in the consumer health, generics, herbals, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals, and medical devices sectors working with multinational and European companies and with SMEs across Europe. Duncan has extensive knowledge and experience across all OTC categories and specialist knowledge of the CEE countries. Additionally Duncan is a frequent speaker at CEE conferences.
Founder of AWA and former Chief Executive of Branded and Generic Pharmaceutical Companies with 30 years commercial experience including health foods and retail pharmacy. He has a wide knowledge of the industry with contacts gained through executive positions at former leading UK pharmaceutical wholesaler McCarthy PLC, nutritional company Pharmadass and as CEO of Manx Healthcare. For the past 10 years he has been focused on M&A and pharmaceutical consultancy.
